Rapier Gunship concept

Here is the updated top view for the Rapier Gunship concept. It probably retains more of a modern helicopter look then might be expected, but I'm going with the idea that once UAV's and UCAV's become widespread, many designs will shift from being the drone type look we currently see, to more familiar looking aircraft but minus the glass canopy of course.


The Rapier forms the backbone of the unmanned vehicles filling the ground support role for UN ground forces and with it's multiple weapon hard points,, can engage any target on the battlefield from light infantry to heavy armor. While the wingtip hard points are capable of mounting air to air missiles, Rapier squadrons routinely rely on support from additional air units to avoid hostile engagements with superior forces, such as Allied Phantom and Jack Rabbit squadrons.
