AR-558 Bullpup WIP 1

I'm not sure yet which one I'll go with.

the Carbine and the Bullpup are almost the same length, with the difference being so small that it's practically negligible. The barrel of the bull-pup is longer though, and perhaps long enough to eliminate the need for a separate Battle Rifle variant, which would have had a longer barrel than the carbine.

So the only other variant may be the DMR version.


On the other hand, the bullpup configuration makes it more difficult to include the drum mag in a SAW variant. Not impossible, but cumbersome for the user. As I've said elsewhere though, the SAW was never going to be a prominent version anyway, so it probably doesn't matter.

Anyway, it still needs some work. There is something wrong with the look of the magwell and how it integrates into the stock. I don't want to connect it to the grip because that's how the Alliance rifle is configured.

I'll probably scrap the scope seen here and build a new one that looks less...scopey and more techy...if that makes any sense. It needn't have actually glass that can be seen through, but rather a sensor and small display...if that helps make things clearer.

Anyway, let me know your thoughts about which you prefer and why.
